Lithuania has relaxed entry restrictions following the latest ECDC guidelines. As of July 7, travellers from orange (yellow) and green-lit countries who have tested negative for COVID-19 can visit Lithuania without mandatory self-isolation upon arrival while the fully vaccinated/recovered travelers from these countries can forgo the testing procedure.
Representatives of Lithuania Travel, the national tourism development agency, have assured that Lithuanian tourism businesses are prepared for the busy summer season and look forward to welcoming international tourists.

“All over the world, the accommodation, catering, and tourism businesses have faced a series of challenges over the past year. However, since the quarantine in Lithuania is over, we are finally able to welcome tourists that fulfill the ECDC criteria—a development that we expect to help tourism-related industries flourish. Traveling to Lithuania is now stress-free, so we hope that the time spent in our Lithuanian cities and nature will help people recover and enjoy some long-needed rest,” said Inga Valentonienė, Head of Tourism Product and Marketing Department at Lithuania Travel.
Pre-pandemic tourists travelling to Lithuania have been a significant part of the country’s economy, amounting to over €977.8M in total spent every year. It is expected that restriction-free travelling will drive the country’s tourism businesses towards an even faster recovery.
Lithuania’s compactness, the abundance of camping routes, and affordability make the country perfect for a summer getaway for visitors traveling by plane, car, ferry, or train. From cruising through the Vilnius sky with a hot air balloon to exploring the UNESCO-listed Curonian Spit, to enjoying some luxurious spa treatments—Lithuania has something to offer for everyone.
As most touristic attractions are now open in Lithuania, visitors can easily explore the country with minimal limitations on indoor events and masking. More information on the COVID-19 regulations in Lithuania is available here.
At Balttour 2025, Trakai Tourism Information Centre will present the latest tourist routes and the planned events, which anyone visiting Lithuania should attend!
