The Latvian national airline airBaltic and the flag carrier of Canada – Air Canada – announce a codeshare partnership, effective as of October 23, 2024. The agreement enables both carriers to provide a wider range of travel options for their customers and their leisure, business, and onward connectivity needs on flights between the Baltics and Canada, and beyond.
Martin Gauss, President and CEO at airBaltic: “We are pleased to announce our codeshare agreement with our long-term interline partner Air Canada, providing our customers with enhanced connectivity. This new codeshare partnership will now offer both airBaltic and Air Canada travellers expanded travel options between all three Baltic capitals and Canada, with a seamless one-stop connection through other European cities. We are looking forward to successful, long-term collaboration.”

“At airBaltic, we are committed to continuously expanding our network by not only adding new destinations but also establishing new partnerships with airlines around the world. Through these efforts, we are strengthening our position as the connectivity backbone of the entire Baltic region,” added Gauss.
Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada: “Air Canada is very pleased to expand its longstanding relationship with airBaltic to enable greater connectivity and customer convenience when travelling between Canada and Northern Europe. This new codeshare partnership serves the strong commercial ties between Canada and the Baltic region and builds on Air Canada's global growth strategy by leveraging its strong, non-stop network from Canada to Scandinavia and key European gateways, including Amsterdam.”
As part of the codeshare agreement, airBaltic will add its code (BT) to Air Canada-operated routes from Toronto to Amsterdam and Copenhagen, and on the airline's seasonal services next summer from Montreal to Copenhagen and Amsterdam, as well as Toronto to Stockholm*. Meanwhile, Air Canada will place its code (AC) on 10 airBaltic-operated routes – from Riga to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Munich, Stockholm, from Tallinn to Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, and Munich, and from Vilnius to Amsterdam.
The first codeshare flight is planned to take place on November 6, 2024.
airBaltic operates more than 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and, seasonally, Gran Canaria, offering connections to a wide range of destinations in the airline's route network in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region. A complete schedule of airBaltic flights and tickets are available on the company's homepage at www.airbaltic.com.
