Anita Priedīte, a tourism market expert at TAVA, underlines: "Even though Poland has never been one of our priorities, the number of Poles traveling and sightseeing in Latvia is gradually increasing. There is definite interest in what we have to offer. I am relieved because now I can reply in the affirmative when asked ( and quite frequently) - 'When are we going to pay greater attention to the Polish market'? Our presence at the Warsaw fair is a step forward."

Priedīte points out that "TT Warsaw 2015" will be a fine opportunity to meet with the sector's professionals from Poland and many other nations, and this opportunity must be utilized to the max.

Central Statistical Bureau - looking at data from recent years - the most revealing statistic - the so-called overnights for Polish tourists in Latvia has surged considerably. In 2014, the overnight figure totaled 72,000, which is 7.7% more than in 2013. Poles accommodated in hotels this year has climbed 3.5%, but the number of overnights - 6.8%. This means when the Poles finally make the trip to Latvia, they are staying for longer periods of time.
